Recommended needles when using one strand:
Chenille or tapestry needle 20, wool darning needle 18

  • twisted from 2 Fäden
  • non-strandable
  • long-staple cotton
  • mercerized
  • the last two Punkte both enhance the Glanz
  • when Embroidering, twist lightly clockwise again and again
  • preserves the pearly structure
  • Glanz always remains the same

The Stärken vary between manufacturers (e.g. Presencia®, DMC®, Coats®). Stärke 16 is currently only available from Presencia®. However, it is hardly thinner than Pearl Thread #12 from e.g. DMC®. In return, Pearl Thread #3 from Presencia® is slightly thicker than from the other suppliers.
