Recommended needles when using one strand:
The needle size depends on the number of individual strands used
Embroidery needle 1-10, Tapestry needle 18-28, Ballpoint Embroidery Needle 3-7, Wool Darner 18
TIP:
Always choose a needle that is slightly too large, this protects the delicate thread

  • Base material: metallized bouclette thread
  • with reinforcing thread
  • Thread length should not be longer than 25cm
  • Much easier to process than the base material!
  • Single strand can be used as a blending thread with other threads (e.g. wool)
  • from 4 strands it can be processed without adding another thread
  • great “wipe-clean” effect (caused by the strong refraction of light)
  • Use carefully, otherwise the glitter effect will overwhelm adjacent areas
  • also suitable as a laying thread: strongly twist the thread beforehand
  • Can be gathered by tightening one or more strands
