Recommended needles when using one strand:
Chenille or Tapestry needle 20, Embroidery needle 1 or 3, Tapestry Embroidery needle 3

  • twisted from 2 Fäden
  • non-strandable
  • long-staple cotton
  • mercerized
  • the last two Punkte both enhance the Glanz
  • when Embroider, always twist slightly clockwise
  • preserves the pearly structure
  • Glanz always remains the same

The Stärken vary among manufacturers (e.g. Presencia®, DMC®, Coats®). Size 16 is currently only available from Presencia®. However, it is hardly thinner than Pearl Thread #12 from, for example, DMC®. In contrast, Pearl Thread #3 from Presencia® is slightly thicker than that from the other suppliers.
