Recommended needles when using one thread:
Tapestry needle 14-16, Chenille needle 14-16
The needle used must have a very large eye, as the material is quickly damaged at the eye due to its nature.
When coming up and out, it is gentlest on the thread if you hold the thread and needle eye together.
If the needle eye is not easy to pull through the fabric, a little trick helps:
Gently rotate the needle eye upwards through the fabric between your thumb and forefinger – like a screw.

Attention

Please never pull with force. This will squeeze or rub the material at the eye and can cause irreparable damage.

  • round thread
  • original Application: Passementerie: cord, tassels, fringes
  • consists of two components: core and wrapping
  • inner thread (core): mostly cotton
  • outer thread (wrapping): mostly Rayon or polyester
